Challenge:
The project sought to establish a state-of-the-art healthcare facility that could accommodate 130 beds while maintaining strict international standards in medical architecture. The primary challenge was designing a hospital that maximized space efficiency within a relatively constrained urban site, all while ensuring a healing environment that supported patient care, comfort, and privacy.
Approach:
The architectural approach involved a clear organizational layout, with four basement levels dedicated to parking, utilities, and logistics. The ground floor served as the main entry point, incorporating reception areas, outpatient clinics, and administrative offices. Patient care and specialty departments were arranged on the upper floors, with large windows and optimized natural light to create a welcoming, serene atmosphere. Advanced engineering solutions, including energy-efficient building systems and modular interior designs, ensured a functional and sustainable healthcare environment.
Impact:
The Al-Kindi Hospital project was completed on time and within budget, establishing itself as a benchmark in Jordan’s healthcare sector. The thoughtful architectural and interior design created a therapeutic environment for patients and efficient workflows for medical staff. As a result, the hospital not only increased healthcare capacity in the region but also set a new standard for quality and efficiency in hospital design, paving the way for future facilities.
