Challenge:
The Al-Mutlaq Group mall project in Jubail faced the challenge of integrating a large-scale, mixed-use commercial complex into a coastal environment. The location's prime seaside setting posed challenges in creating a structure that would blend with the natural surroundings while offering a high-end shopping and entertainment experience. Additionally, the need to address accessibility, parking, and environmental sustainability, all while accommodating international brands, required careful planning and innovative design solutions.

Approach:
The design of the mall embraced the site’s coastal location, aiming to harmonize with the natural landscape and provide easy access to the public. The building features a large anchor store, City Plaza, and a variety of internationally renowned shops, alongside restaurants, a food court, and recreational services. The architecture maximizes the use of the site with an underground parking facility for 600 cars, ensuring convenience for visitors. The project includes an urban park designed to create a sensitive ecological and environmental response to the site, providing a natural space that enhances the shopping experience. The layout prioritizes both functionality and aesthetic appeal, creating an inviting destination for locals and visitors alike.

Impact:
The mall became a premier destination for shopping, entertainment, and leisure in Jubail, attracting both locals and tourists. The integration of the urban park not only improved the visual appeal but also contributed to the environmental sustainability of the development, offering a space for recreation and relaxation amidst a bustling commercial environment. By combining functionality with a careful respect for the surrounding ecology, the project provided a lasting positive impact on the local community, becoming a central hub that supports economic growth and enhances quality of life. The mall's diverse offerings ensured its success as a cornerstone of retail and leisure in the region.
