The complex consists of three main segments, including the Darat al-Malik Abdulaziz building, Al-Murabba Palace and the National Museum, along with King Abdul Aziz Mosque, which are all clustered into a traditional urban fabric of courtyards and narrow alleys.
DAO was in charge of designing the general masterplan, the Darat building, renovating the existing Diwan at Al Murabba Palace, and renovating and enveloping the existing King Abdulaziz Mosque in contrast with the rest of the development.
