Challenge:
The Oud Square project faced the challenge of designing a mixed-use development in the heart of Riyadh's prestigious Diplomatic Quarter, which required blending high-end commercial spaces with flexible and luxurious office areas. The goal was to create a unique development that offers a comprehensive leisure and professional experience while maintaining the area's exclusive character. Additionally, the complex needed to cater to contemporary requirements with modern amenities while ensuring seamless integration with the surrounding urban fabric.

Approach:
The design of Oud Square embraced a harmonious blend of functionality and elegance, offering ground-floor spaces dedicated to high-end commercial functions like restaurants and cafes. The upper floors were dedicated to flexible, luxurious office spaces that could meet diverse professional needs. At the heart of the development is an open space that creates a vibrant environment, with carefully selected brands enhancing the leisure experience. The design prioritized sustainability and innovation, incorporating advanced systems such as water, HVAC, fire protection, and solar systems, ensuring a modern and eco-friendly approach to urban development. The engineering design services provided by Dar Al Omran KSA covered structural, mechanical, electrical, and electronic design, along with the creation of comprehensive contract documents, ensuring the project adhered to high standards of quality and functionality.

Impact:
Oud Square quickly became one of Riyadh’s top destinations, offering a blend of leisure, commerce, and business that catered to the city’s elite. The project’s innovative design and careful attention to modern needs allowed it to stand out as a hub for luxury retail and high-end office spaces. Its central open space, filled with leading brands, contributed to creating a complete urban experience. As a result, Oud Square not only fulfilled its vision of being a landmark development but also added significant value to the Diplomatic Quarter, further enhancing the area’s reputation as a dynamic and sophisticated urban environment. The project's success also demonstrated the effectiveness of combining engineering excellence with creative design to meet the diverse needs of contemporary cities.
